Privacy Policy

In effect 5 September 2026 · Terms of Service · Delete your data

Burning Bush is a Bible memory app. It keeps the least it can: an email address so your progress can follow you between devices, and the progress itself. There is no advertising in it, no analytics in it, and nothing in it that follows you anywhere else.

The short version. We store your email, your password as an unreadable hash, and what you have learned. We do not sell anything to anybody, we do not track you, and there are no third-party analytics or advertising tools in the app at all. You can delete everything yourself, from inside the app or from this page, without asking us.

Who we are

Burning Bush is made by Kingdom Builders AI. You can reach a person at [email protected], and that address is read by a human rather than a system.

What we store, and why

WhatWhyWhere it lives
Your email address So an account exists, so your progress reaches your other devices, and so we can send you a password reset when you ask for one Our database
Your password To let you back in Stored only as a bcrypt hash. Nobody, including us, can read your password or recover it — a reset is the only route
Your progress It is the whole point of the app On your device, and a copy in our database once you have an account. Verses you have learned, the scenes you wrote, your memory palaces, talents, streaks and review schedule
Messages you send us Bug reports, feature requests, and requests for help with the cost Stored with your progress. Two named administrators can read them, because somebody has to answer them
Whether you have paid To unlock what you bought, on every device you sign in on Our database holds a subscription status and Stripe's identifiers for it. No card details ever reach us

What we do not store

The microphone

You can speak a memory scene instead of typing it, which matters because the scenes are two or three sentences of deliberate nonsense and typing that on a phone is miserable.

Your account is shared with other Kingdom Builders apps

Worth saying plainly because it is not obvious. Your email address and password are held once for all Kingdom Builders products, so one account works across them. What you do inside Burning Bush — your verses, scenes, palaces and progress — is kept separately and is not visible to any other product.

Who else touches your data

Only companies that have to, in order for the app to work at all. None of them is given anything for their own use, and none of them is paid for your data.

WhoWhat they getWhat for
RenderEverything, as our hostRuns the app and the database, in the United States
StripeYour email and your paymentTakes the payment. They are the ones with the card, not us
SendGridYour email addressSends the password-reset email, when you ask for one
CloudflareNothing about youServes the teaching films and sits in front of the site
Your device makerWhat you say into the microphoneTurns it into text. See above

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We never have and the app has nothing in it that would make it possible.

How long we keep it

Your account and progress stay until you delete them. If you delete your account we remove it immediately — not after thirty days, and not into an archive.

Two exceptions, both narrow: records of payments are kept as long as the law requires us to keep financial records, and a group licence keeps a note of which email addresses have held a seat, so an owner can see the history of the seats they paid for.

Deleting your data

You can do this yourself and you do not need to ask.

You are offered a choice, because your account is shared: delete only your Burning Bush data and keep the account for other Kingdom Builders apps, or delete the account itself and everything under it. Both are immediate and neither can be undone.

Children

Burning Bush is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, write to [email protected] and we will delete it. Older children and teenagers are welcome, and a parent may of course set an account up and use it with them.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. The app already does the last two without asking: deletion is a button, and Back up your progress hands you a complete copy of everything you have done as a file. For anything else, write to [email protected].

If you are in the EEA or the UK: our basis for holding your account and progress is performing the contract you entered when you created it, and we will answer a request within one month.

Security

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and are unrecoverable by design. Everything travels over HTTPS. Access to the database is limited to the two named administrators of the app. No system is perfect, and we would rather tell you that than claim otherwise; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app's What's new screen rather than quietly changing the date at the top of this page.
